Ben's little birthday celebration '07,
with four friends imported all the way from KL.
My dad hails from a town called
Sungai Petani,
the second fastest growing town in Malaysia, after Johor Bahru
and it is about a 40minutes drive away from Penang.
Every year when Chinese New Year is approaching,
my family would definitely receive tins of cookies handmade by my grandmother all the way from the North
and trust me when i say hers is nothing compared to those you have back here in the South.
My all time favourite has definitely got to be her ribbon biscuits.
However, due to
"unforseen circumstances" few months back,
my grandma is unable to make any cookies this year.... anymore.
Because of this,

my family decided to try, and make it ourselves instead this year!
We bought all the ingredients needed from Kedah weeks before,
placed our portable stove in the patio,
and got started on our mini-project early this morning.
The whole process of slicing, cutting, folding, twisting and deep-frying
was really, really exhausting.
The four of us basically tried reviving the exact look and taste of the ribbon biscuit made by my grandma all these years for the whole day,
and im pretty glad to say that by the end of the day,
we're almost-there-already.
However,
it still doesn't taste as good as hers,
and i don't think it ever will.

There's just so many new & nice songs playing all day long over the radio !
And its really nice cause
everyday when Ben and i are in his car taking a drive or heading to somewhere
we'd be screaming " Oh oh listen, my favourite song!! " or " Hey listen, your favourite song!! " almost every minute
while increasing the volume of the radio, only to tune it down a few minutes later after the song ends, and tuning it up again the next minute when another of our favourite song is played.
After 6
very constructive weeks,
i'd say that the-whole-working-thing has been, ummm
pretty fun actually.
I've actually been working doing my vacation training in a Chartered Accountancy firm,
a pretty mediocre one, which pretty much provides Accounting, statutory Auditing and Taxation services.

You basically examine and analyze accounting records to determine each company's financial status and prepare a financial report and
whala! you're done.
As easy as im making it sound like now, its not !!
But the thing is, throughout this whole experience
it really have opened up another side of me, this whole new feeling
like im really certain at the moment that
accounting is what i want to pursue at present, and do in future.
Which is a pretty good thing, i guess.
Its so funny cause I used to hate figures alot back then,
we never got along and how i always run just at the sight of it
and yet they're all that i want to see and talk about now.
Still couldn't believe that i forgot all about the taking-pictures-to-show part
so sorry.
It was a pretty impromptu thing,
when the four of us headed down to another town in Johor
just to have seafood for dinner.
Not that we can't have seafood in Johor Bahru,
but i guess we were yearning for real real seafood, really fresh ones i mean.

We kind of know we've reached the fishing village
cause there were not many cars at sight anymore, more of motorbikes
the road was pitch black
there were no buildings around, only tall banana trees
and of course,
the smell of the sea the moment i got down from the car.
The two guys got down to deciding and picking the most delicious looking ones
a big fat fish, prawns, crabs. And of course, bottles of Carlsberg.
The rest of the night was definitely finger lickin' good.
