    a dream came true.

I thought it was, and will always be just a dream.
But my parents made it come true. Both dad and mum, they made it come true for me. Again.

    I'm a very happy girl today! :)

    readings

A little something worth reading :
some home truths that Bill Gates reputedly threw at a bunch of American youths.

    Rule 1
Life is not fair - get used to it !

    Rule 2
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

    Rule 3
You will not make US$60,000 (RM219,000) a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

    Rule 4
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

    Rule 5
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger-flipping: they called it opportunity.

    Rule 6
If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault. So don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

    Rule 7
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got what way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes, and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were.

    Rule 8
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades, and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

    Rule 9
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off, and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

    Rule 10
Television is not real life. In real life, people actually have to leave the coffeeshop and go to jobs.

    Rule 11
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

I personally liked Rule 5 and Rule 7 best :)
    On the other hand,
there are still some out there who don't quite understand what "sub-prime" really means. You should really read the story of Mr. Suck Plime then.

    Have a happy weekend ! :)

    Friday

    I walked along Orchard Road.
    Smilled at two policeman.
Lost my way a couple of times.
Did some major shopping, sales is on! :)
Some random people decided to give me a balloon, which i eventually got tired of it and watched it go up up and away into the sky! So pretty.
Mistook a guy for wanting my details when all he was trying to give me a discount card. Sorry!
Bought a dress from Zara, where the cashier charged me even lesser than the price stated. Made my day :)
I love all the ice-cream vendors along Orchard Road ! They're all so old-school, and i love the feeling i get after buying from them. Somehow magically there's just this great sense of satisfaction :)

And this time, i took notice of the people around me.

The smilling man pushing the stroller, carrying a huge knapsack. The lady with a big white hat. The three girls walking hands-in-hands, giggling away. The coughing old man sitting on the bench. The mother running after her son, who has ice-cream all over his face. The girl dressed in red from her dress, to the bag and heels. The old man happily juggling three balls along the pavement. The blind man playing his portable keyboard on a wheelchair.

So i did quite a lot of thinking. And i am much more certain of what i really want for my own future.

Quite an eventful day for me i must say. I hope yours was too...in a good way like mine of course! :)

    back to reading

So i've been doing some reading this holiday,
only during the night tho. Till i get tired and eventually fall asleep :)

My current reading : " I take this man...whether he likes it or not " by Valerie Frankel

There's this one sentence which Penny made, that got me thinking for a little while.

This was when Penny just found out that her soon husband-to-be, Bram had just left her during the very last minute at the alter. Around her was her bestfriend, the wedding planner and her mom. And she said very calmly, "As soon as my legs start working again, I'm going to get off the floor and sit on that couch. I'd like a cocktail too please. Only after that, I'm open to suggestions. "

See, i've always wished that i could be as calm whenever situations arises. Thing is, I just can never be calm. Guess I just have to start somewhere right! :)

On the other hand, after so so many years...

me bought myself a Crayon Shin Chan book today!
cause I think shin chan really rocks! Don't you? :)

    loved ones

I've got to say, this year's V-day was a tad different compared to years before.
Many may have already known, i've just embraced the whole singlehood thingy and am taking baby steps trying to figure how it actually works! After so many years you see...
And so far, i think i've been doing not too bad afterall ! :)

For the first time ever, i ordered the most expensive dish in the menu. Sort of daddy's treat to me, since he can be considered as my now-boyfriend *hugs*

Mummy & Daddy, still going on strong after 25years

Grace & Adrian , the newly engaged couple

And of course, what's a Valentine's Day without any sunflowers!

    me love :)

Meantime while we were all back home before heading out again, i decided to show them my love by doing a little spin !

    *wheeeeee* :)

    The V-day

    Me love Valentine's day!

As much as some may find the day being a little overrated, i guess its really nice seeing how guys put in all their effort running around just for this one day to be a special one. And the amount of thoughts put in just for that one special gift.

( I just spent the last one hour on the phone with a macho guy who is worrying that all his plans will fail terribly, and he sounded so funny! "Omgg, do you think she will like it ?" "Do you think im over-doing it?" "Do you think that restaurant will be better than this?" )
And all im thinking about on the other side of the phone is what a lucky girl she is. So no worries alright, im sure she will love every part of it! :)

Who on earth doesn't like the feeling of being loved anyway, right ?

So, Happy Valentine's Day to all of you ! :)

    CNY day 7

Am watching this superbly old school Jackie Chan action movie with dad now. You know how he just never seem grow old, ever ? But whatever. I still like watching him :)

Went to try the yee sang from Sushi King today. Last year's was with salmon, this year scallops. Somehow i still prefer their yee sang compared to the ones we usually have during new year eve. Lots more crumbs to munch, yummm :)

Have to go back to KL tomorrow, while others will still be ChineseNewYear-ing back here. hmmph :/

Nah, show you a picture of the girls...

with our SMELLY legs!! blegh :p

    Back in action!

    *endless drumrollssssss*

    Me back! :)

First and foremost, Happy New Year everyone! Still not too late, since there's still another 8 more days to go. The year of Ox have been pretty great so far, lots of fun and no drama. Plus more fun :)

Fell terribly ill on the day before eve, thats even before i get to enjoy any of the cny goodies! So spoiler right :/
But thinking back on the night before, for Zouk it was all worth it. I think they should really award CherylBarrel the triple VIP title (Very-Very-Very important person), that girl practically owns the place! Her second home, or maybe first afterall *shakes head*

Yvonne, Michelle, Cherise, Me, Kelly T., Sabrina, and...
    oh, edwin's fatty hands :p

Kelly L., Me, Michelle, CheryBarrel :)

    *____*____*____*

I'm actually still trying to understand the whole "cheong k" thingy, seriously
cause everyone around me seems to be loving it so supa damn much, all except me!

" What to do tomorrow huh? "
    " Come lets go cheong k! "

" What are we doing after dinner?
    " We go cheong k! "

" We should gather like... "
    " Oh i know, go cheong k ! "

I swear the people in KL love it so much. And so the people in Jaybee.
Oh yaaa, and people from Kuantan too, this i confirm. why

The girls' planned for cheong k session failed terribly a few days back.
Wanting the cheapest rate, they picked the early morning slot. I managed to wrigle myself out of it tho, since i lost my voice (duh, with the fever and flu and throat infection) Heeee.
But the next morning i had a phone call
" blah blah blah, everyone didn't wake up !! "
so i asked the both them to pick me up in an hour. And the three of us went to have DimSum for breakfast instead. Yes, me love :)

Then again Jiali, if you're reading this
i'll still make sure you get your cheong k session no matter what ok. As promised ! :)

On a totally unrealted note, I think the person who invented Facebook is, really a damn great guy. Don't you think so ?
