hatch day !!

I love this year's Birthday,
its simple yet really special in many of its own ways!!

The day before on Sunday afternoon,

my parents brought playmate and I for hi-tea which was really good.
They serve really good local delicacies and desserts. =]

This year, he had it all planned out and told me about the plans only the night before.
On Monday morning, we woke up early and had a hearty breakfast before going over to Singapore.

Being totally clueless which mrt and bus to take, we finally reached our destination by noon time.

the Singapore Zoo !
Yes, so i celebrated my 19th Birthday at Singapore Zoo with all of the other animals this year !
It was lots of fun in there, really.

It was raining by the time we got there and the both of us were contemplating if we should proceed with the whole zoo trip.
Finally, we decided not to let the rain spoil our little field trip afterall and the both of us each bought a raincoat. If you do still remember the classic old Padington bear, the both of us looked pretty much like him in our raincoats. Really funny.

We embarked on our first zoo experience together,
while announcing to all the little animals that it is my birthday !
( he says that they were all wishing me in their very own animal language, i wish )

We popped by the white tiger's home for a visit first....

Clearly, they weren't fascinated by the whole birthday idea thingy. Just look at the way the chomp on their feedings *runs far far away*

the pelican clearly loves the attention he is getting from everyone...

We managed dropped by the orang utan's mansion for a little visit too...

they are really playful and clearly enjoying their current lifestyle

It was more interested in filling its tummy rather than wishing me tho...

time to feed those big fat and greedy hippotamus-es !!

After hours of walking under the rain in our raincoat paying each little animal a visit,

it was time for us to fill up our tummys before leaving the zoo.

i love the zoo's fingerpost and made him take a picture of it. Just look at those animals heads!

They have really nice trams carrying ~~lazybums~~ people all around the zoo too

the parrots were there to bid us goodbye as we were about to leave

I love the whole visit to the zoo !! Y

We left the zoo around 5pm,

and headed back home to Jaybee.

He had the night all secretly planned out too.

So i was given some time to go home and get dressed for the night !

Oh oh, and Yvonne popped by my place in the evening to wish me and passed me my oh-i-supa-love-birthday present too! =]

My parents also bought me a small ice-cream cake !

So i had a mini blow-off-candle at home with my parents.

Just too bad that my sis was unable to be home in time for my birthday this year. ( next year you better be home !! )

Had a slice of my ice-cream cake before he came over to pick me up for dinner,

yum yum ice-cream ! =]

He even had a little drama planned out in the car before i found my hidden birthday present! For a hint : " Diamonds are girl's bestfriend " *winks*

And before i know it, he turned into this posh place

and we were going to have our dinner there !!

We had our dinner at Piccolo,

which is an Italian restaurant

and he even made a reservation for a table for two by the poolside.

The food was really good + the perfect ambience + nice music + he was a great company

After we finished our meal, the waiter came along with a cake

and started lighting up the candles.

Being surprised and all, i actually asked the waiter if the cake is actually complimentary from the restaurant.
The waited just smiled and said " No, the cake is actually from this gentleman here. "

thank you so much for all the arrangements that you have made. I had a really memorable 19th birthday with you indeed. Y

Although i did not have lunch with the girls this year as majority of them are having their STPM now, but just the thought that they called was nice enough.And friends who flooded my inbox with messages and called, thank you so much !!

Here i am, officially nineteen now! =]

friday frivolous.

His mum bought us tickets,

so we actually went for the Friday Frivolous last night.

Its actually like a gig featuring Paolo Delfino, The Short Attention Span Band and Laila's Lounge.

Not bad, although we couldn't figure if they're singing English songs or something else most of the time. =]

And we finally managed to watch the Bee Movie, like really finally.

After all the last-minutes plans every single time we want to watch it, and following anthony to run his last minute errands on his last day before flying to US while we were actually on our way to the cinema and blah blah blah...

we finally watched it !! *cheers!!*

Yes, its a pretty good movie to catch. Entertaining.

im giving it *4.5 eeyores out of 5 eeyores !!*

For the past four days, i've also watched
The Wedding Date. Save The Last Dance. little Black Book. Punch-Drunk Love. The Devil Wears Prada. how to deal. Because i Said So.

This, is what i call a holiday. =]

birthday blues.

Seriously, being 3 days away from turning Nineteen

im starting to feel the whole " birthday blues " thingy already.

I wonder if its a pretty common thing, or is it only me ?

cause i seem to be feeling it every single year.

I'll start reflecting what a great and fantabulous year it has been, and how much i don't want to let it go. And if the new age will be as great, or even better and so on.

The fact is, i really love being Eighteen.

having a break.

We have been out on eating sprees for the past few days,

and it just feels so good to be supa dupa full. *rubs tummy*

Im like a girl who has been deprived of food for the past 9 months, and just starts gorging on all the food available whenever im back home.

I have the sudden urge to read,

guess i'll be getting " that extra half an inch " to keep myself occupied for now.

Holiday's great,

im loving each and every second of it !! =]

home sweet home.

Went over to the Scarlet on Friday night,

for some mini-after-finals celebration as well as mini-farewell party.

Although most of us were freezing from head to toes that night in there,

it was lots of fun !! =]

happy three friends !

Playmate's family was up in KL on Friday,

so i was over at The Garden with them in the afternoon.

Nothing fantastic there, really

i still feel that Pavilion's waaaayy much better! and nicer! and bigger! =]

Had dinner with WenyiTheBaboon and WeiwenTheChicky that night
and it was really nice.

WeiwenTheChicky, called me up at 6am in the morning

pavilion

Spent almost the whole day in Pavilion today,

and im still not even a tad bored of it yet !

They have lots of awesome makan-place in the mall,

all the shops that i totally adore,

and im officially in love with this mall !

Unlike other malls which i would usuallyturn bored after just a few hours,

i still wanted to keep on walking even though my feet hurts like mad after five hours of walking non-stop! That nice.

After the shopping spree,

we went to a small stall which is about just a 10 minutes drive away from the mall

for the supposingly KL's best beef ball noodles for dinner.

Its just that if KL people were to call that the best, they seriously have to make a trip down to Jb and taste our best! * burst out laughing *

Will be back home in Jb soon ! =]

loving life.

Received my second birthday gift for this year from ChiaEe yesterday, a blouse from Topshop!
My first one was a very sweet dress from sister. Y

It was just so random,
when the both of us hailed a cab at 12.30am last night and ended up in Starbucks
playing UNO cards.

The worst part was when it started raining so heavily,
and the both of us got restless waiting. So we ~~walked~~ ran under the rain
and by the time we reached home, we were soaking wet from head to toes. *brrrr...*

Holiday's going great so far.
Christmas is just 47 days away from now, and the whole christmassy mood is starting to kick in.
Shops are already selling christmas decorations,
christmas songs are being played,
Starbucks is out with their "Christmas drink".
I absolutely adore Christmas day and i can't wait for it !

i wonder what yummylicious food mum's gonna be prepare for thanksgiving dinner this year.

Till then, 11 more days till my 19th Birthday ! =]

yaa-baa-da-baa-doo !!

Im officially over and done with finals, Yayy !! *grins*

Parents arrived shortly after i finished my last paper,
and the first thing we did was visiting grandma in the hospital !
My grandma has just been transferred to a hospital in KL,
and she looks really good today. Smiling and laughing away...

Parents bumming over with sister and i tonight,
and it feels so great being back by their side again. =]

For now, im exhausted. I need, sleep.

Friday night, and we headed to a fine dining Bali restaurant for dinner.

The interior was designed with attention to detail in accordance with the restaurant's concept, service was good
the portioning's just a little too big for one
but the food was delicious and the other four was great company.
Dinner tonight was awesome. =]

advertisements.

A little something just to take my mind off books for a little while.

I've received a pretty interesting mail,
something that shows just how creative advertisors could actually get. Its quite entertaining.

(1) Life-sized stickers of people were all over automatic sliding doors at a mall in Mumbai, India.
When someone approaches, the doors move apart and it feels like the people on the door are moving away.
The person entering find the message, " People move away when you have body odour ".

how creative...

(2) An ambient exercise to promote Eatalica burgers. A 'Caution- Wet Floor' was placed near an Eatalica burger signboard.
The copy on the board reads, " Oogling at the burger may involuntarily cause drooling, which may in turn lead to a wet floor. "
' Issued for your safety by the management of Eatalica Restaurant '
( Eatalica is an American-Italian food joint in Chennai, India )

look, how smart.

(3) Advertisements for a job-recruiting company in Berlin, Germany depict people working in vending machines and ATMs.
It delivers the message, " Life is too short for the wrong job. "

this, my personal favourite. It cracks me up seeing the man in the ATM machine. Cause thats what my parents used to tell me whenever i ask them how an ATM machine fuctions! =]

(4) Stickers were placed in selected car park locations and car workshops where M-Tech Plasma HID lights are sold in Malaysia.
It delivers the message that these headlights are 300% brighter than regular headlights.
The burn-effect sticker from the headlights really leaves an impression.

this is really interesting !

(5) A very cost-effective advertisement in Hong Kong for a yoga school showcases the prowess of a yoga practitioner on the flexible stems of drinking straws.
Enquiries and enrolment went up after this promotional stunts.

Its 4am now by the way, back to books! =]
